Hi -
I have been the owner of an internet cafe in San Miguel de Allende for over 4 years
(since August 13th, 1999). During this time
I have learned quite a bit. Some of the things I have learned through
trial and error; other things I have yet to, and may never learn.
Please don't think I am rude, but here are some of the things I know
that I do not need:
- Cyber Cafe Management Software: I have been running the Caf for 4
years. I developed my own system - I don't need yours. Thank you anyway.
- Coffee: I don't need to buy yours, nor do I sell mine - except on a
per cup basis. Thanks for your interest.
- Internet Telephony: I don't want your service. Please don't email me
about it; especially don't call my Cyber Caf to try to sell it to me. Please expect
to be treated very rudely if you don't choose to respect this request.
This is my business and my decision. Thank you anyway.
- Computer Equipment: I have a wholesale account with several
distributors in Mexico. I don't want to buy equipment from you, and I
don't need any new distributors. I don't care if you have a better
price. Thank you anyway.
- Advertising: Please do not feel free to distribute your announcements, promotional
material, advertisements, newsletters, etc. If you choose to send them
to me anyhow, I will make an effort to report this activity to your
internet service provider, or your email host. I have gotten over
500 spammers' email addresses shut down over the past 4 years.
Here is a recent example. You're
welcome.
- Nigerians: If you are the child of a deposed dictator - I know all about the
Nigerian
fraud. Thank you anyway.
- People Search: I run a business, and I work about 70 - 80 hours per week.
Unfortunately I cannot devote my time looking for your lost friends, their
telephone numbers, or email or postal mail addresses. Nor can I go about
the town posting notices on bulletin boards for you, leave messages with
other people, etcetera. Sorry, I just cannot help you.
- Professional Advice: I appreciate that you might be interested in opening your own cyber
caf somewhere in the world. I cannot give you free advice. My time has
value, as does yours. My fees for professional services are about US $85
per hour. If you wish to contact me regarding the possibility of a
consulting contract to help you set
up an internet cafe - feel free to contact me - please keep in mind my
rates. Thank you very much for understanding.
If you are selling something - very simply, I do not do business with people who use
Unsolicited Commercial Email (spam) to get business leads.
If I ever
need anything that I don't have, I can find anything I want right
here. If you sell it, and you have
proper
website design and
web site promotion, I will find you.
If you read all this, and still need to contact me, please use the
information below.
