The Weather in San Miguel de Allende - Local Weather Forecast

We can provide you with some useful general information about the climate in San Miguel de Allende. The area around San Miguel is considered semi-desert, with extended periods in which very little precipitation falls. Even in the rainy season, the air is considerably drier than many visitors are accustomed to, and may find themselves suffering from the minor inconveniences that this brings, i.e. drier skin and chapped lips.

The rainy season begins in June and lasts until mid-October. The rainy season generally brings rainfall about 3 or 4 times per week, with a heavy (very heavy!) rainfall coming in around once every 10 days or so.

However, don't let the rainy season discourage you, as this is when San Miguel de Allende is at its most beautiful. By August, the desert has transformed itself, and where there were only cactus and thorn bushes in April, a carpet of lush grass and wildflowers are growing.
