Internet San Miguel Cyber Café, located in historic San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is just two blocks from the town square, called El Jardín. Our cyber cafe has high speed connection, running at 512 Kbps. This is an "always on" connection - literally 10 times faster than standard 56.6 dial up - plus we never have busy signals, or sudden disconnects. The café has 7 PC stations running Windows 98 or Windows XP (all with Japanese IME and Chinese, Korean, Hebrew and Arabic character sets installed), as well as a wireless network (802.11 b/g compatible) and spare ethernet ports - which means if your laptop has an ethernet or wireless networking card, we can configure your machine to connect directly into our high speed network. We also have a public access scanner and a CD burner, which customers can use self-service at the same hourly rate as using the internet. If you plan on bringing your digital camera, the majority of our machines have USB ports for downloading photos, but please be sure to bring your connector cables and any necessary software. Our network can connect to all popular internet services, and our web browsers have 128K encryption installed, so you can access private information such as bank accounts with confidence.
Our rates are reasonable, the walk-in rate is 5 pesos per 10 minutes, which works out to 30 pesos per hour (about US $3.25). We also have a discounted rate if you buy 5 or 10 hours in advance. As a card holder, you are entitled to per minute rates, which means you are charged for exactly the time you use (instead of blocks of 10 minutes) . We have convenient hours (9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM on Sundays - we don't close for 'siesta'), we have a bilingual, knowledgeable staff ready to assist you. If you want to access your email accounts from here, don't forget to bring your user name and password with you. If you use a local dialup service provider ask them for instructions on how to access your email remotely from the web. We recommend using www.Mail2Web.com - it is a free service that can access most pop3 email accounts. If you have never used email, or are a novice, don't worry, we will set you up with a free email account from Yahoo.com - a private mailbox that you can access anywhere in the world with a simple internet connection (and we don't even charge you for the time it takes to set it up!).
Our café serves up some of the best espresso and cappuccino in San Miguel, all from fresh roasted coffee from one of Mexico's finest coffee plantations. If you're not in the mood for coffee, we have soft drinks, red and white wine by the bottle or glass and the best of the Mexican national beers: Bohemia, Sol, Indio and Dos Equis. We also offer a variety of home made pastries, cakes, and cookies.
